Imposter Game

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 16, 2026

The short version

Imposter Game has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. Pass-and-play games never leave your phone. We keep only what online rooms need to work, and only for as long as they need it.

On your phone

Player names, player photos, groups, scores, custom decks, settings and the words you have played are stored on your device. They are never uploaded. Delete my data in Settings removes them.

The camera is used only when you tap Take a photo to give a player a face. Photos stay on your phone and are never shown in online rooms.

Online rooms

  • Your phone makes a random key the first time you play online. It is not linked to your name, email, phone number or Apple account. The server only sees a one-way code made from it.
  • The name you type, your clues, drawings, chat and votes are shared with the people in your room. Rooms delete themselves 3 hours after the last move, and after 12 hours at most.
  • We count how many online games each key has hosted, to apply the free limit.
  • Reports and blocks are kept so we can stop abuse. A key reported by three different people can't play online for 30 days.
  • Delete my online data, in the Online tab, erases what the server holds for your key and gives your phone a new one.

Purchases

Plus subscriptions are handled by Apple and checked through RevenueCat, using an anonymous id. We never see your payment details.

Usage and crashes

If Share usage data is on in Settings, the app sends basic game events, such as a round started or the paywall shown, and crash reports with the error type only. They carry a random install id, never your name, words or chat. You can turn it off any time.

Children

Kids mode limits chat to quick phrases. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children.

Who we share with

Nobody, except the services that run the app: Cloudflare (servers) and RevenueCat (subscriptions). We don't sell data.
